About
Make sure volume of speakers is appropriate. Test taker maintains direct eye contact with black box in the screen center or receives error message. Speakers will emit 2hz metronome sound. Turn chin gently side to side to metronome sound while looking at black box and pressing arrows up, down, left, right to indicate C direction.
What is the test? In this RightEye test, the stimuli is reduced in size if the user continues to respond correctly.
What is the purpose of the test? This test measures the horizontal vestibulo-ocular reflex due to the rate of speed elicited by the metronome.
Why is this important? This type of DVA test is commonly assessed in vision therapy as one measure of possible head trauma, stroke, balance or other neurological impairments.
The RightEye DVA tests show the same stimuli (a Landolt-C) with a gap located in one of four positions. Logic with the tests ensures accuracy of the results, removing “guessing” or “luck”.
Life Example: An example of everyday use of DVA 1 is the seeing traffic signs or signals while driving.
Metrics
Dynamic Visual Activity: Reports the user’s visual acuity when their head is moving but the target object is stationary. The user moves at 2 hertz and the object remains still.
