Release Notes - August 23, 2018

We will be releasing an update to your RightEye system this Saturday, August 25th at 8:00pm EST. This update includes changes to the user interface. See below for full details.

IMPORTANT: To apply this update, we will need to manually remote into your system. You will not be able to use your system while we apply the update. You do not need to be present during this update.

PLEASE LEAVE YOUR SYSTEM POWERED ON THIS WEEKEND. We will begin updating systems at 8:00pm EST on Saturday, August 25th.

If we are unable to access your system this weekend, we will be contacting you directly next week to schedule a time to install the update.

What’s New

This update includes certain changes that are specific depending on the type of RightEye system you own.

  • Zotac/Alienware systems include those with a separate monitor, eye-tracker, and either a Zotac or Alienware brand PC.
  • All-in-one systems are those with a built-in eye-tracker and battery pack. Any systems delivered after February 2018 are all-in-one systems.

Closed Desktop – All-in-one only
In our ongoing effort to increase security and simplify usability of your RightEye system, all-in-one systems will open to the green RightEye screen when the system is turned on. You will not be able to access the desktop (via Alt+Tab or Win+D) or any other functions of the computer.

You will be able to select “Take a Test” to administer RightEye tests and “View a Report” to access the RightEye portal to read reports. System settings and help, like network connections and printer settings are available by clicking on the Question Mark (“?”) icon in the lower right of the screen.

Built-in Portal Access – All-in-one only
Selecting “View a Report” will open the RightEye portal within the application instead of opening Google Chrome on the all-in-one system. Note: you cannot open multiple tabs in the portal on the all-in-one system.

As always, you can still access the portal to view reports on any other computer via https://portal.righteye.io.

New Portal Feature
You can now click “Back” in the portal to return to the previous page. For all-in-one systems, this is the only way to navigate to previous pages when viewing reports on the RightEye system.

New Menu Options
You can now change your network connection, change your default printer, shut down and restart your PC by clicking on the “?” menu in the lower right corner. For Zotac/Alienware systems, you can also close the application.

Change Internet Connection
You can now add, remove or change your Internet connection from the “?” menu.

Battery Indicator - All-in-one only
All-in-one systems now have a battery indicator in the top left corner of the start screen.

Improvements and Bug Fixes
