Near Point of Convergence |
This test is used to determine the ability of the patient’s eyes to converge on an object at near. |
Accommodation Convergence Ruler and Target Cards |
1. Place the target card on top of the ruler and position it at the 53cm mark. 2. You should be directly in front of the patient and in a lower position. 3. Place the tip of the ruler on the bridge of their nose at a 45 degree angle downward from their eyes. 4. Move the card toward the patient at a constant speed of 1-2cm per second. Instruct the patient to look at the vertical line and say TWO when they see two lines instead of one. This distance is the Break Point. You should also observe their eyes as you move the card closer. They may not notice double vision, but if you see one or both eyes stop fixating on the card, this distance is the Break Point. 5. Record the Break Point then move the card away from the patient at 1-2cm per second. Instruct the patient to say ONE when the two lines become one line again. The distance at which they see only one line is the Recovery Point. Record it. |

Next Steps After the Screener
Based on the results of the 9 Point Motor Function test, Near Point of Convergence test, and/or the optional Convergence Insufficiency Symptom Survey, the results screen will display either "Medical necessity determined" or "No medical necessity determined." Click "Register" to create a User ID for the patient and continue to the Sensorimotor Exam, or click "Finish" to exit.

Cardinal Gaze Position |
Cardinal Gaze Position is a sensory test of binocular function that records the speed of each eye when moving in different directions. |
Occluder |
Adjust the VisionTracker2 to align the patient’s eyes in the middle of the left eye-box as shown in the right eye box. They should be between 55-60cm from the screen. Using the occluder, cover each eye when prompted by the on-screen instructions. |

Four Dot Fusion |
This test is a sensory test of binocular function using red-green glasses. |
Red-Green Glasses |
1. Place the red-green glasses over the patient’s eyes while they're seated about 33cm away from the screen before starting the test. 2. Once the patient has verbally confirmed that they see the dot(s), continue to the next screen (don't have them remove the glasses before proceeding to the next screen). 3. On the next screen, click the box that best shows what the patient described. You may also have them select the appropriate box. 4. Enter any clinical notes in the bottom before continuing. |

Next Steps After the Exam
After completing the Screener, Exam and/or the optional Convergence Insufficiency Symptom Survey, you're ready to complete the Interpretation and Recommendations report. Here you can record your findings, select conditions, and recommend next steps. This can be done directly from the VisionTracker2 system or accessed online via your RightEye Dashboard.
